Why are we looking for a Project Engineer Automation?
We recently opened a new, high-tech production facility in Roeselare and are looking for an automation engineer to help optimize our processes.
You will also be directly involved in the construction of our brand-new production facility in Northern France, set to launch around 2026. This offers a unique opportunity to make an impact and shape our next major step.
What do you do as Project Engineer Automation at DESOTEC?
From the start of a project, you will be involved in purchasing, basic and detailed engineering, project execution, quality control of delivered materials and/or services, supervision, follow-up, and commissioning, all with the necessary support from the team.
You will be responsible for the complete preparation and documentation for programming, including drafting functional analyses and the program architecture, as well as creating instrument lists.
You are capable of reading electrical diagrams and providing support in their development.
You will compile CE files and create training tools for the users of the installations and PLC programs.
Within the team, you will share responsibility for the design and procurement of complete industrial installations.
You will manage the planning, deadlines, and budget throughout the project.
You will select and manage any external partners/subcontractors as needed.
You will primarily work from the headquarters (HQ) in Roeselare, and between 2026 and 2028, also in Ruitz, France. You will have the option to work from home.
What does your team look like as Project Engineer Automation?
You will join a team of 4 wonderful, driven engineering colleagues in Rumbeke, Belgium, consisting of a Head of Engineering, Mechanical Engineer, Technical Draftsman and Chemical Project Engineer. You report to the Head of Engineering.
Who are you as Project Engineer Automation?
You have a Master's degree in Industrial Sciences in Electromechanics or Automation.
You have approximately 5 years of experience, including 3 years of project experience in automation projects (required), preferably in large industrial companies.
You speak (very) fluent French and can also communicate effectively in English (both spoken and written).
You have experience with PLC programming using Siemens software.
You are familiar with common engineering programs/software, with knowledge of Excel, MS Project, and design software being required. Knowledge of ERP systems (Navision, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.) is considered a plus.
You have a strong sense of responsibility and can work independently as well as in a team.
